The Mad Scramble For iPhone 4′s
I was browsing around some mobile phone shops in the high street yesterday, basically to see what all the fuss about the iPhone 4 is all about.
Is the iPhone 4 as good as all the hype indicates, and does it live up to the tremendous demand for it?
I have never owned an iPhone, but lots of my friends do, and almost all their wives have one tucked in their handbags. Mostly those powerful smart phones are being used for texting (the onscreen keyboard is really excellent for that) and something else. Errr, I know, making phone calls!
The men also add email functionality to their uses of the iPhone and I’ve seen one of my friends browse the Internet quite often with his.
My brother-in-law is a major user of his iPhone 3 and as a real techie he downloads apps, uses it as an ebook reader, in fact uses it as the excellent smart phone it is.
I should say that my brother-in-law, was a major user of the iPhone 3 as he has recently bought an iPhone 4.
Guess what – he doesn’t like it! Sure that screen is really fantastic and it is still one of the best smart phones out there, but he doesn’t like the shape of it in his hand and also has suffered from the poor reception problems.
He’s about the only one that I know who has an iPhone 4. All those friends with iPhone 3′s are no doubt plotting ways to upgrade theirs, assuming they can get hold of one.
And that seems to be the problem – that phone is in such demand that it is sold out almost everywhere, although we have managed to find that iPhone 4′s are in stock at Orange at this very moment!
