Hi. My name is Chris Ray. Well actually it’s Christopher, or at least that’s what’s written on my birth certificate.

I live in the South East of the United Kingdom, married with two young children - Charlotte (4) and Peter (3) and agewise I’m in my mid forties. My mental/emotional age is probably very different, according to who you mention me to!

I have a BSc (Hons) in Physiology from Newcastle University and so I have a pretty good background in medical and scientific matters, but I’m definitely more business orientated than academic.

Following about eight years spent with medical technology companies, I made a dramatic move into information technology and have never looked back since.

I ran my own database design company for about 6 years before joining one of Europes largest IT suppliers. Rapidly promoted into various management positions I developed a couple of highly successful start up businesses for this company before they decided, in their infinite wisdom, to make me redundant in 2002. I decided then that corporate politics was not for me and forged ahead with various internet based ventures.

Various twists and turns led me towards the web based finance industry and my business is rapidly growing in this area.

Several years experience in finance has shown me how little most people know about looking after their financial affairs and understanding money matters so I set up MoneyHighStreet, a web site providing financial news and information to consumers in the UK.
